/members/jiggz/ Your PM. All normal in IBF since last night. Can see thumbnails in your PM and full images here.I prefer tinypic.com, as sometimes the thumbnails cannot be expanded in FF.And to see blow up of Thumbnails I should not log in. Then not possible to access PM.A quick suggestion 1 : Netbios over TCP/IP select default. ( Advanced settings)suggestion 2 : post the TCP/IP settings page. ( showing all tcp/ip , IPV4 6 etc VISTA)Suggestion 3 : Appears you are using an USBport. also Change DHP range to 192.168.1.3 to 192.168.1.40 Usually 192.168.1.2 is reserved for USB mode gateway.

hi..change the dns to obtain automaticallyand see whther it works or not and also in router change the ip range as i told u 10.0.0.1 in lan ip and 10.0.0.2 and 10.0.0.55these setting work perfectly on my setup which is same as ur except the modemmodem utstar 300r2u ...Netgear router and wired xp desktop and wireless vista laptop

Check DNS again. Your screeshot shows 4.2.2.1 etc.
You have entered Pune NIB 61.xx.xx.xx etc.
Better select Obtain DNS also automatically. and try. Netbios over Ip enable DEfault.

and yes, i m even able to use bittorent client to download torrents! at a healthy download speed.. but just not open any website!
and exactly same problem on both... gtalk and yahoo msngr work seamlessly, bsnl.in and gmail.com open... except this, no other site.. i mean it shows waiting for reply.. then nothing
Firewwall/browser settings/MTU/DNS . etc.
Para two ; what is the difference/advantage between DHCP range 192.xx.xx.xx and 10.xx.xx.xx

my guess is that the ip range in modem is 192.168.1.x
so it may interfere..so thats y i told you change the range
in my router wgr614 v7 the default setting of router is 10.0.0.1
it working for me..so i advised..i may be wrong

ok.. heres all what i did...set lan ip to 10.0.0.1 and ip range to 10.0.0.2 to 10.0.0.51netbios set to defaultdns set to obtain automatically frm isp at router setting, lan card setting alsostill, problem persists. :(about firewall, i dont have any third party software, have already disabled windows firewall... dunno if there are any settings to be done with router firewalland explain mtu... how to change, where can i get to change it and value to be set..this thing is seriously getting on my nerves now! :(

try one of these thingnow in your desktop local area connection lan tcp/ip settings select ip manually use 10.0.0.2 and subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and defalut gateway 10.0.0.1dns values use open dns or leave it to obtain automaticallyor lets start from begining..makesure u can connect to internet directly to both ur pcs via ethernet cable from modem lets reset your router and setup everything in routerdns setting automaticallyand also in both computers lan tcp/ip settings to automatic settings..nowrestart ur modem ..then restart ur router and trytoday u must get ur setting right..we will help

sorry guys i was out of home all day.. just returned.. will do as mentioned and post fresh results by tomorrow afternoon.. thanks! :)

ok.. so i tried out the 2 options given by you... set tcp/ip manually.. still same problem.then reset adsl modem, reset router, restarted pc, setup router again, again restarted all, still no luck! same thing as before..so in all, this is current status:all connection is properrouter is able to connect to isp and get ip and dnsgtalk connects successfully and opens gmail account seamlesslytorrents can be downloaded at healthy rateapart from this, no other websites or services are operational.. eg download of virus def. by antivirus etc..and yea, direct wired connection works seamlessly, infact, that is how i m posting this message now!!Also, windows firewall is disabled. no other specific s/w firewall installed. No doubt on browser settings too.. IE and firefox, both on lap and pc dont work!n95 detects wifi and connects succesfully... even loads mobile (wap) sites, but no html or other apps requiring net (eg Nokia maps) dont load any data. This again shows that problem is somewhere in router and not browser or lap or pc... my guess.. :)Thing is, data comes in from telephone line > adsl modem > Netgear but only some (gtalk etc) is directed to connecting device. Something in the router is holding it back.. like a firewall does.. or a popup blocker!Whatever this is, is something related to router. Dns is also fine..something is preventing router from displaying web pages... now we need to find out that something... :)when i type in webpage name, it shows quickly like looking for website, connecting, transferring data, waiting.. and then nothing... :( this needs to be cured.bit long... but explains everything i guess..also one more query, now that 192.168.1.1 accesses router, previously it used to access bsnl modem. can this be reason? Also, is it that router takes control over bsnl modem? whwn router is connected, can i still access my bsnl modem or is it hidden behind the router? sorry.. m a layman in these things! :)Thanks..

I have a perfectly working MTNL Triband connection with the same Netgear Router that you have.InternetD-Link 502T(10.10.30.1)(10.10.30.2)Netgear WGR614(192.168.5.1)PC through LAN & Laptop through WiFi. My PPPoE dialing happens through Netgear & it also acts as the DHCP Server. As already pointed by someone else, the ipconfig output shows a different DNS Server than the one you have set manually in the TCP/IP settings of your LAN card.
