Source: NSE - Sun Tv Network Limited has informed the Exchange that: "Sun TV Network Limited has signed an exclusive Cable & Satellite channels agreement with Nimbus Communications Limited to broadcast live feed of the ODI matches of the Ireland Series between India, Ireland, South Africa and Pakistan commencing on 23rd June 2007 to 3rd July 2007. The same will be telecast on Sun News with Tamil Commentary, Gemini News with Telugu Commentary and Udaya Varthegalu with Kannada Commentary and is the first of its kind in Telugu and Kannada Languages. This is a long term agreement with Nimbus with respect to any cricket series over cricket seasons 2007-2008 to 2009-2010 in the languages of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malyalam for which Nimbus has the rights". while showing the cricket matches, they showed it in Sun Sports symbol only. then suddenly they changed it into Sun TV symbol...may be some objection came from somewhere....hope after the DTH launch, they will launch Sun Sports channel.........eagerly awaiting Sun Direct for quite sometime!!!! It looks quite attractive and may be a pre-Puja/pre-Diwali Bonus for everyone !!!!!

Suntv and sunnews are FTA channels on dd direct +.so after sun direct launch will it be available on dd platform or not?.

yes, that what sun wants to do now. becoz the karunanithi govt is trying to crush the scv and sun tv in tamilnadu by launching the arasu cable tv corporation and they r threatning the cable operators to join the govt mso. so to save the sun tv business they r in need to do something and they are going to tackle this by reaching the consumers directly by giving the service cheap than the cable operators. :yahoo:

people who have the dd direct will move to sun dth becoz of itz cheap price. sun will remove itz channels from dd direct becoz what is the point it is wasting money paying 25 lakhs as a carriage fees to dd when sun got its own dth platform.
