Unable to connect automatically

guys i have this problem that, after switching on my modem i have to go to 'network connections' and there right click on 'network adapter' and click 'connect' after that only my network connects and i'm able to use the internet...each time i have to do this:O:O:O...
what should i do guys should i change something in modem settings...
my modem is ZTE ZXDSL 831AII
and the problem is independent of operating system...

Please share some more details:Modem Configuration: PPPoE OR BridgeOS: ??Using LAN or USB.-------------------------------------------------I presume your modem is configured in Bridge mode (in which we use a dialer to get connected to internet).

buddy i don't know how to check PPPoE OR Bridge configuration, can u tell me how to check it, i'll find and tell you...
my OS is windows 7, the problem is same in xp,vista and even linux 'ubuntu'.
i'm using LAN, Ethernet .
