Unless you're looking for something other than Top-40 or something that is somewhat obscure, that is. Some things I just can't find on iTunes store or Amazon or whatever.

there are tons of other services for digital downloads which offer all the movies, shows, etc

i hate itunes with there encryption based downloads to avoid piracy.

i like to do alot on PSN where you can download movies and then use them on any media device and have it on your PSN too

Akamai's network in India is based in Bangalore. Akamai is the worldwide partner - that's kind of the point of partnering with a CDN, in fact that's what a CDN *is*.

I don't know how much bandwidth they have exactly but it's probably at least a 10GigE MPLS like most of the CDNs seem to have.

yeah but it could be that AKAMI's indian operation are mostly for other things

even if they had alot of bandwidth, little will be for PSN.

What will be of more concern though is what ISPs connect between themselves and Akamai. If the ISP only allocates like 100Mbit/s to Akamai, then it's not going to really matter what Akamai has, since the Akamai box just sits on the ISP's network anyway.

Yeah cause they still totally have that... and iTunes is just an example, can't use an Indian credit card/address with it anyway.

I don't think you quite understand how a CDN works, but OK.

no PSN doesn't have it

also if you want to download from the US or any other countries PSN,you can just buy PSN premium cards and then use them instead of Credit cards on PSN.

i know the basic thing

anywayswould like you to tell me how you think CDN works the whole procedure

Clearly you don't.

A CDN does not download just 1 customers information to the local mirror, it downloads all of the most commonly accessed information.

But if the ISP has only a small pipe to for example Akamai, then it may very well be insufficient to satisfy customer demand.

If set up correctly however, your downloads from the local Akamai box should be much faster than from those abroad.

i know that

but the fact is that AKAMI only MIRRORS for PSN INDIA not PSN US or UK as Sony has them separated with different content

you can access other countries PSN but that countries servers are located in INDIA so we will get normal speeds

and even the INDIAN PSN the customers are very very low and INDIAN PSN has almost no content.

and as result of that the AKAMI mirrors in india will allocate low space for PSN and if all the rare INDIAN PSN users start downloading they mirrors can be too loaded

Akamai gives us zero choice as to what we mirror, but from what you've described, it's more the problem that Sony are not publishing as many titles to india.psn.com as they do to uk.psn.com or whatever.

As such, we may be better off transparently caching that ourselves.

that can be done but there is low chance SONY will approve

Who said anything about approval from Sony? We could justify it as fair use or something.

fair use how?

make PSN account and then cache everything

there are restrictions on things on PSN

don't really understand you here
