Is this statement true? I'm planning to buy OnePlus Nord CE based on this, after being fed up with network issues on iPhone SE 2017. Now I'm uncertain given that OP seems to be banned...

OnePlus Nord CE is terrible, Vi just has terrible support for most smartphones, it's not really a hardware limitation on a smartphone. Your better bet would be to go for Airtel or even Jio for the matter, Jio seems to have CA support for almost a lot of smartphones even those back in 2017.

My main issue with Vi is how it switch from 4g to 3g to 2g all the time and vice versa.

I live in a rural area and mostly work in similar other rural areas in neighbouring states. Vi is the only consistent performer for me. Jio is better when it comes to coverage of course, but sometimes speeds are unbearable. Often it feels like Jio's towers just are set up to somehow latch on but then, that's it. Nothing more gets done, except voice calling.
