When is Airtel going to offer 40 MBPS in Delhi?

It's been ages since Airtel is offering 16 mbps in Delhi at affordable rates. But now the world has moved on to higher speeds. When are we going to get 40 MBPS plans in Delhi? Hathway is offering its 50 MBPS plans starting just @ 899, Is it worth a shot?

What will you do with 50Mbps speeds on Hathaway when the max data they can offer is just 175GB? Airtel gives me 200GB at 16Mbps which is enough. It has 500GB plans for heavy users as well. You might need to go through retention dept for those I guess. lol

Also, Airtel seems to be testing Vfiber in some parts of Delhi.

Don't have high hopes, they said they have started V-Fiber in Chennai. But i haven't heard from anyone about this. Few say Customer care said it will be available after 2-3 months..All marketing and a big eyewash

Hathway doesn't give max 175gb. They give 350GB as their max and post FUP speeds are 2mbps and not 512kbps like Airtel. Also in Diwali, they gave 100gb bonus to people who renewed (there was some offer), so that makes it 450gb.

I am myself stuck with 8mbps on Airtel, but luckily Hathway is there. Will get rid of Airtel soon. Hathway is pretty stable.

The deal is not so sweet from my point of view.

If I opt for the offer, Rs. 200 will be added for next 5 bills = Rs. 1000
Data will be consumed faster at 40mbps and no extra data given by Airtel, so plan also needs an upgrade = Rs. 200 or 300 per month depending on new suitable plan

I asked Airtel to cover cover at least one of the above costs, which they refused but said they will add it as consumer feedback.

P.S.: I inquired about upload speed. They said - "as per standard it should be 1/8 of download speed, i.e. 4 to 5 mbps". Never knew that standard.

Some technical info: Huawei cards are installed at local distribution center to support VFiber technology.
