The point is BSNL won't do shit for the regions where there is no competition. So be prepared to stick with 512kbps and FUPs for sometime.

Personally? I am happy with what I have considering the advantages I have living in a country like India. I can get a 25 rupee meal, 15 rupee haircut, 10 rupee shave, 1.2 paisa per second mobile calls and so on. I also have a kind of freedom that you seldom get to enjoy in most other countries. The compromises that you make moving to another country might be worth it for some people... I am quite pleased to be where I am considering the alternatives. Also... I have a 4mbps connection that works till 175GB. I can get two connections if I want/need more. Reliance 4G LTE (if and when it launches) would probably offer me something better in a few months from now.

Did that sound like an election promise? Because I can get a Rs. 25 tiffin delivered to my house even here in Gurgaon. Sure it would not be enough for someone like me who is 6 feet tall and weighs 110 kilos. But it would be enough for 'regular' folks with normal appetite.

Arent we being myopic, just comparing call rates and broadband charges?? What about quality of life? Education? Elder care? Clean air? Clean rivers and lakes? Ability to pursue your dreams at affordable prices - e.g. flying lessons, camping (safely), hobbies such as shooting, archery etc. I definitely think it is far better abroad than here. Am gearing up my kids to settle permanently in the US and hopefully they manage to do so.

oh wait. what country by the way, because every single country out there has its own share of problems. moving to usa? hopefully you do not look like a muslim or prefer to have facial hair. that would be very bad at the airports. and yeah medicare... good luck having direct access to a doctor in a country like usa again. canada is probably a much better option.

Keep us updated when you are there. If I am alive, this forum would still be running in one form or the other :)
