Guys can you please tweet and DM to your various BSNL twitter handles asking about 1 gbps speeds and when they will launch? It seems BSNL is ignoring/blocking my twitter handle :D

Would like to see what is their response, if any...

I missed all the drama. But Wifi5 can reach above gigabit speeds.
Intel Wireless 9260 chipset based m.2 cards supports 160 Mhz channel width therefore provide a theoretical maximum of 1,733 Mbits/s. But you need a Wifi5 router like Netgear R7800 which supports both 80+80 and 160MHz channel widths.
But above combo is kinda outdated and it's better if one opts for Wifi6 based router and use a cheap Intel AX200 m.2 card.
I myself use an overpowered combo of 2 X RT-AX88Us in mesh mode and Intel AX200 ordered for Rs. 800 from AliExpress. It connects at 2400 Mbps and makes my setup gigabit FTTH ready. Just that MTNL Mumbai has not launched any plans yet.

Actually got a response to my email which I sent to CMD BSNL email ID (not gmail) but his secretary forwarded it and it got forwarded to like 20 people inside BSNL most of which are using gmail IDs and one Rediffmail ID :D

The response was:

Respected Sir,

With reference to the trailing mail received :
1)Currently FTTH plans are given with 100mbps Bandwidth
2)Also Internet Leased Lines are given upto 2Gbps

Hope this answers your query.

Not the reply I was looking for so again emailed them asking specifically when/if they have a near time future strategy to provide 1 gbps speed for home FTTH (Bharat Fiber).

Let's see if they respond again with anything meaningful.

I think they are not allowed to leak plans or leak plans about new plans. When 4-5 customers are left on their network, they will awaken and launch 1 gbps plans for double the competition price.
