I got banned!
I could confirm that Excitel is hijacking non-ecrypted DNS traffic to servers other than OpenDNS and CloudFlare as mentioned in Excitel Broadband is now allowing some DNS servers including Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 and OpenDNS | Excitel Broadband
I use DNS over TLS anyway, so it's not an issue for me.
Also, ZeroTier works great even with the NAT, I am able to remotely access the network over ZeroTier without issues.
Overall so far, I didn't notice much of an issue with Excitel, clearly the speeds aren't that great. Most speed tests doesn't reach the plan speed level always other than few servers. Single threaded downloads don't reach the full speeds, and have to use multi threaded downloads to max out.
Haven't checked torrents yet though.
Anyway for the price ie Rs 667 or so incl GST for 100 Mbps unlimited, the service is pretty good so far. On Spectra I pay Rs 1180 for 250 mbps but I barely noticed the difference for my use cases (I don't download much these days and 100 Mbps is more than enough). I'm planning to temporarily disconnect Spectra for now and see how Excitel works out.
