Yes the Marketing agent confirmed me that after 100 GB the speed will be reduced to half for the rest of the billing cycle. i.e. for me it would be 1 MBPS.And yes he said that this applies to the existing Home 2222 plan too, which has a limit of 75 GB / month.

And Anmol, he offered the plan for 2499/- . I think its some sort of Marketing trick Airtel is playing. You just bash their CC and tell them that others are getting the same plan for 2499/- then why you are required to pay 2999/-

I have airtel 2222 1mbps untld plan since 8 months..

FUP policy states 512k speeds after 100gb and not 75 gb..

Also i download around 140 gb per month and my speeds havent been reduced..

The Fair Usage Policy does not apply to Plan 2222. I also have the same plan and download and Upload around 200 GBs per month.

So an advice for the people with plan 2222 i.e 1 Mbps unlimited plan. Don't change your plan if your data usage is heavy. Airtel is not offering this plan to new consumers anymore. And they are contacting the existing consumers who have this 2222 plan and trying to convince them to change this plan into some other one. But once you've changed out of this plan, you can't get it back. I guess it's better to stick with the plan and wait till Airtel offers 2 Mbps unlimited plan without any conditions.

so basically there are 3 plans and details regarding Fair Usage Policy .

Explore 1099 (Airtel/MP/FL/6)
Day(6AM-10PM)-384Kbps, Night(10 PM-6 AM)-1Mbps
** NO Fair Usage Policy:happy::clap:

Turbo 1299 (Airtel/MP/FL/7)
Day(6AM-10PM)-512Kbps, Night(10PM-6AM)-1Mbps
** Fair Usage Policy
** Day speed - 512 Kbps till 100 GB, 256 Kbps after 100 GB.

Freedom 1699 (Airtel/MP/FL/8)
** Fair Usage Policy
** 24x7 1Mbps till 150 GB, 512 Kbps beyond 150 GB

these plans were launched today in Mp and Chattisgarh

but there is a catch Turbo 1299 100gb cap is only during day whereas freedom 1699 cap is for 24*7

After checking out the link, I noticed that there is absolutely no mention of the Freedom 2999 plan.

Damn, I just got ripped off. I just can't believe that they would actually try to screw their old customer base like this.

Also, it says for the 2mbps 2499 plan, the speed will be reduced to its half once the limit of 150gb is reached.

   ....... :madness:

Update ---- Okay, that was pretty dumb on my part, as I completely forgot to change the region to Delhi. So now, the Freedom 2999 does show up when you select the Show All option. After comparing the specs of the 2499 and the 2999 on that very website, I found out that the speed won't be reduced for the 2999 plan, as for the 2499, the speed will be reduced to 1mbps once the limit of 150gb is reached.

I would like point out that the 2499 plan was nowhere to be found for the Delhi region, so I decided to change the region to MP and it was very much there. That is how I managed to compare them.

If that is true, it would work out just fine for me, but that's a big IF.

Also, it seems that Delhi has the most number of plans, as opposed to other states. I could be wrong though.

Yeah guys,Freedom 2499 (If you can get it) - Has FUP!Freedom 2999 (Now available in most places) - Has no FUP!I am going to try and get the Freedom 2999 plan now!

There is no mention of Fair Use Policy on the Airtel site for 2999. But when you call the customer care and ask about it they confirm that after 100 GBs of data usage the speed reduces to 1 Mbps. I have called them 3 times so far and they are confirming it. May be the Fair Usage Policy is there for 2999 or may be the people sitting in customer care don't have the correct information. In any case, make the necessary inquiries before you sign in for this plan.

Nope. I just got the plan details and there is no mention of FUP.Anyways, my plan migration request has been registered. I will be upgraded within 5 days! YAY!Finally, I get it! WOOHO!:whistle::rofl:

And instead plan freedom 2999 is being offered with same condition of Fair Usage Policay as in Plan 2499.

I don't know where you're getting your info about Freedom 2999 having fair usuage policy. I've confirmed with them more than once, and they said it didn't exist. When I got the call from the Nodal officer, it was the first thing I asked him. I'm pretty sure he'd be aware of the conditions more than the customer care guys.Anyway, for those that are on 2mb/s connections. How much speed do you guys get on link-removed and link-removed?
