I am living in Jaipur and Tata Sky hd not launched here can i buy tata sky hd from Delhi and get install in jaipur. Is there any complications.:irock:

Complications - Theoretically NO , but Operationally Yes

1) You can buy the box - but i guess the satellite is brought by the Tata Sky person
2) Installation - you can do , but how will you check the signal strength

Rest of the smaller things - cabling, activation etc can be done by you.

Well I forgot to mentioned that I am Tata sky sd user.

Then there is no issue. Just buy the new HD box ...exchange the sim card that come with the new HD box with your existing one (so you dont have to activate all the existing packs on the new sim card)

Call up the call center and ask them to activate the HD pack ...and you are ready to go.

Dear Gautam thanks for the information. I just called CC and the lady told me that even if I will buy TS+HD from Delhi/NCR I will not be able to activate it as the same is not yet launched in my area. So, is there any point buying and risking 4k?

Also, she told me that there will be very little difference between TS+ and TS+HD clarity.

I also live in an area where TS+HD has not yet launched......but I got a digicomp from Delhi and called them up to schedule an installation. So as long as you can get the STB you can activate it anywhere

Same here. Got the new HD plus box and Scheduled installtion. My place too is out of Delhi.

Well firstly, I think this thread needs to be renamed. Not Breaking News anymore. Secondly, ordered my Tata Sky+HD box and got it devlivered and installed within 2 days. There were complications because they did not have stock when i called them otherwise I could have had it installed the day I ordered it. The first box they tried to setup did not work for some reason. So they installed a new box for me. The whole process took more than 4 hours which was annoying ( I didn't mind it too much cause most of the time they are very prompt and efficient ). The STB looks fantastic, I found the interface to be much improved. Smooth and Simple compared to the older HD and Plus STB's. The remote is excellent in terms of size, not to big, not too small. Price is fantastic. And the most important thing, the AFTER SALES ( Customer Care ), according to me, is the best out there. All in all, for me... 10 on 10. Well done Tata Sky.:thumbsup:

+1 to the installation, and support team part, its not awesome, but its acceptable, they are slow to respond or react but no so much (as yet). I am happy (till now)
