You are wrong there my friend, its just on paper. See this;

I took that screenshot today. Create time is the day my connection got activated which is 4th August 2006 so don't confuse it with the date this image was taken, just FYI. Fact is the users of 1350 UL aren't even getting 1 Mbps now leave aside 2 Mbps and there is absolutely zero support from BSNL about this in my area. Hope the rest of you guys have better luck.

Ever wonder why even after 63 years of independence we are still a 2nd world developing country? The reason is quite simple, who needs the Pakistanis, we are our own worst enemies, always were, always will be.

Hey ac2k10,

BSNL is migrated all uses to new MP network. I don't get the screen like you now. My usage portal is through a different link - BSNL Portal
I suspect that they are not updating the old Usage Portal for old customers who are still on the old network. You need to refer the Tariff available on website, which was shared by ATHUL.

If you are in UL1350 plan, then at the starting of every month you should start getting 2mbps (till you download 15GB). Later it will be set to 512kbps.
If you are not getting 2mbps in the beginning of the month, then there is some problem and you need to get it resolved by going to your Local Exchange office.

I faced this problem and got it resolved. See this:

Mystery Solved!! UL 1350 and ULF 1350

Hi Ppl, basically there are two plans: UL 1350 ( 512 Kbps unlimited, officially) and ULF 1350 (Theoretically 2 Mbps upto 15 GB and 512 thereafter).

UL 1350
Now, UL 1350 is shelved and no fresh registrations accepted. "NOT ALL" Old Customers using this plan are automatically migrated to ULF1350. Customers like, who have got dataone in early 2006( like myself) belong to the old P1 type, you are connected to NIB I ( refer google) and are connected to the Old DSLAMS ( refer wiki) in the exchanges. They need to visit the exchange/customer care to need to be migrated to P3 ( MP ) ( 117.XXX.XXX.XXX IP)and to make a plan change to 1350 ULF if needed. There are unofficial reports that this UL 1350 will be /has been upgraded to 1 Mbps unlimted. So, if your plan in dataone account admin site shows 1350UL and you are getting 512 kbps, please wait before moving out of this plan ( to which you cannot come back) as you may get 1 mbps unlimited speed.

UL1350 ULF:

This is the new plan. You are connected to NIB II, and you ll get nearly 2 mbps till 15 Gb ( officially). You'll have IP starting 117.XXX.XXX.XXX and your usage portal is different at "data.bsnl.in". Since teh usage monitoring in BSNL is still not perfect for this plan, some of you may get >512 even after exceeding 15 GB limit, but it will reduce to 512 kbps. You are in P3 type and you are connected to new DSLAM. ( Most exchanges have 2 DSLAMS).

**** BSNL customer care is not even aware of all this differences and this P1, P3, DSLAM stuff may confuse them if you say that :D:D:D. So if you are an OLD customer and you need to move to ULF1350, and if they customer care say that there is no such plan, insist upon it and tell them that you heard that to move to this plan you need "SYSTEM ID CONVERSION" . But beware, your internet will not work for few days. Your user ID will change and your usage portal also changes to data.bsnl.in for which youll get another set of user name ( 14 digit) and password. Basically youll get two user name and password, i.e, one set for connection and another for usage portal mentioned above.**

Take care.. bye

The rumours about 1mbps were untrue made by new posters, if BSNL introduces a 1mbps connection, it will upgrade everyone and not just old users, so dont worry about missing out and change your connection
