I am on MIUI 1.11.4... and seems to be more better than CM7.1Camera,wifi,3g,voice record,LED notification with color,2.3.7 and better looks. CPU 1GHz ... Voice clarity is also good and looks the best...Till now no problems...I was on CM7.1 for a week. Prior week was on original ROM 2.2.2... this week on MIUI 1.11.4Till now MIUI is good... but there are some places where text is in chinese.... and thats annoying...Lets see for some days...I will be then permantly shifting Back to Original Stock ROM of Defy for India like out of Box Stock.

CyanogenMod has many problems in Samsung Galaxy S I9000. Every time I install it, I end up uninstalling it in 2-3 weeks

Why dont you try MIUI. Some people like it more than CM.

The UI looks really good. And I'm seeing there is a Search option too, which I'm missing a lot on the music player of CM7.

UI is pretty similar to the latest version of Google Music for Android. Of course they have evolved it a lot and it has plenty of additional features.
