I suppose so... But the rating element appears to be forum specific and not theme specific so they should have a separate folder for common elements. Something like Child Themes on WordPress... You only need to replicate the files that have changes in them.
Element may be forum specific..but the images need to match the theme. That's why you need to copy them into individual folders. I remember vb themes used to come with button psds..so whatever extra buttons you add via plugins, you need to use the PSD to generate theme specific button images. Extra task but yes that's what was recommended.
ANd the child theme concept..lol all the forums will have to be written from groundup.
Naah. Problem is that most of these paid forum softwares are just trying to catchup with each other. They are not innovating. They are not thinking out of the box or trying to do something different. Those forums who did try are not exactly complete enough to be deployed to forums having several hundred thousand posts.
Someone really needs to develop a powerful yet innovative forum software. Which isn't happening.
username and password? i am not sure if twitter/facebook sign-ins still work so you can them too. google sign-in is a big mess. i was lucky that i got it working and it still worked. the support thread on ipb forum is full of complaints on how it is not working for other folks.
