Got myself a Zee DTH Connection

i was tired of waiting for airtel iptv. but i dont like the zee's dish tv interface. i think i will get rid fo the service after 6 months.

ok it started working that night... was out the whole day. the wiring done by the dude sucks. the wire from the dish is loosely connected to the dth. have complained 3-4 times. no use. but then i expect no service from the zee dish tv guys.ok... another question...how do you guys your television sets now?two remotes? one to turn on the tv and go to the av mode. another to control the dish tv?i dont have the remote for the old tv i use here. so i have to turn it on manually and press the av button. i guess i will get the dish tv guys to replace the composite cables with the regular cable so that one process is reduced. the ass* took the extra cable which came in the box i think coz i can't find it anywhere!

I think u will also get a RF cable along with it.. so use it to connect it to ur TV and watch it without going to AV mode. the pic quality may differ though.

if u connect RF then u will get the channel as soon as u put ON ur TV.

yeah... but the dudes took away that cable! coz i cant find it now in my house am going to fight it out with the dealer. duh...btw. do u guys turn off the stb? or put it in standby mode?

How is the pic quality ? I heard that theSTBs from Zee hang every now and then. Especially if you flick the channels rapidly. Is the EPG any good ?

pic quality is nice on most channels. some channels channels have these weird color shading which i think is due to the old age of the television set itself.have not used EPG as i hate the UI of the device. i mean the buttons are weirdly placed... it's just not user friendly... no hanging. just that some channel took a while to appear. the picture emerge slowly but gets fine later on.

I just heard the news that my agency has won the Airtel DTH advertising account. Hopefully in 6 months, there will be a better alternative to Dish!

Does this make sense to anyone ?

Airtel or Bharti has a wired network in place, why would they be interested in DTH ?

What happeneed to triple play ?

Or is that it, the majority of their wired customers are enterprise so would not have any need for TV over IP. Therefore there isn't a good reason to offer it and instead its cheaper to reach many more ppl via sateliite.

airtel would be using IPTV in areas they have wired connectivity. that means not many cities.with dth they can cover the entire nation!
