How to use static IP with bridged mode?

hi, I asked Airtel to enable bridge mode on my router and he told me I need postpaid Ariel connect ion and not prepaid one.
also he said I need static Ip for bridge mode.
is the local technician guy from Airtel is correct ? @ceyen

@Broadbande Airtel enabled bridge mode for me even before i switched to static ip. i was on a pppoe connection configured in my TP-Link Deco router for a long time. you can call customer care at 121 and ask them to enable bridge mode in one of the ports, they will forward the call to a backend team, who will enable the bridge mode, mostly in port 1.

HI Folks, thanks for all the help so far, But i'm unable to configure internet in my Deco router after i switched to statip IP. Below are the following options i have tried.

Setup:
  • Router: Nokia G-2425G-A
  • Bridge mode enabled in Port 1(it was enabled by airtel backend and worked when i was using a pppoe connection from my deco router)

After switching to Static IP, i tried the below

  1. Change connection type of Deco router to static ip and entered the static ip details from WAN page, didn't work!
  2. Set "all ports to bridge mode" option in lan settings of nokia router and tried step 1 again, didn't work!
  3. I tried connecting my laptop straight to port 1 and set the ipconfig of the laptop to the static ip, including mask, gateway etc. didn't work!

Observations:

  • i'm pretty sure only one device can be configured with the same static public ip, which might be the reason why i'm not able to configure the internet in my DECO router. The airtel router is already using my static ip
    • i tried deleting the WAN profile of the static ip in the nokia router - But the delete button is greyed out.
People who have static ip and were able to establish a internet connection in your own personal router. Please help.

Your observation is actually the reason behind you not being able to obtain internet on your Deco.
Secondly, why do I feel like I'm reading this same issue again as someone was having it a few days prior as well🤔
Also, hard luck if your Nokia is in an extremely locked state for then, there's no way to delete that Static IP WAN profile.

@tr1k0N4 , Thanks for taking the time to respond!. I had shared this same observation last week as well, But that is before i tried these options. I was going through a few threads on how to unlock the Nokia router so that i can delete the wan profile. But, even that is of no help as some configuration setting like Backup/Restore don't even exist in my router admin portal.

It looks like i'm left with no options but to try out some third party ONU's like 1-Port Gigabit XPON Terminal

@panks21 , Thanks for sharing, but this won't work for me because, the backup & restore option and the access control options are not available for me. Airtel has locked down the router for good!

@tr1k0N4 , I did go through that thread earlier. Unfortunately, the Digisol router is no longer in stock anywhere. But I found a G3 V1 in stock in starcomp and ordered it. As per this thread, most people have had good luck with the G3 V1, hoping it works without any fuss. If not, i will need to procure a digisol one locally.
