Mi Air Purifier 2

Mi is not very efficient in large rooms I guess. Even my dad's room, it can stay on for hours but still the particulate matters remain high. But then the levels are insanely high these days because of diwali and smog.

I think you have to keep the windows/doors mostly closed so the purifiers rate comes close to incoming air rate.According to this Xiaomi is better. The Best Air Purifiers Under 1,000 RMB: My Test Results
Also not sure Mi's rated CADR is as its top, need to compare it with the Smart Air Cannon.

My dad's room is pretty much locked from all sides except for the main door which is also usually covered with curtains. of course i have nothing to compare it against.

Was in a room using Philips air purifier , didint feel any freshnes in room etc.

It's alright. The auto mode is rubbish and you should immediately set the favourite setting to the actual size of your room. Use that to get the particulate count down and then switch to auto.

It doesn't seem to remove any odours in the room though.

auto mode only works at peak speed if the dust levels are extremely high

does this need special filters or will the filters for 1st gen mi purifier work?

Also, why the 2k price difference? wasn't 1st gen 10k?
