Update... My download speeds have been improved somewhat. Browsing speed is slow:(

I have been told that they have 'increased the bandwidth' whatever that means also that it will 'prevent disconnections', yes you read right, that what MTNL babus (v senior) told me today :cool2: :wall::wall::hysterical: So lets see what happens I dont see any increase in speed yet.

@socrates. I have been restored to my normal download speed and also i have reset my router, that may be the issue. Thats very very good:). Now i am receiving as usual download speeds :)

I am still getting this https://www.speedtest.net & I used to get 1.85 mbps pre april & they put a new wire from the colony duct to my bldg junction box yesterday.

'April Problems' mentioned below are the ones still plaguing me.

1) Can access the D-Link settings page for only about a minute after switching on the modem, after that the browser gives an error that page ‘cant be displayed’.

2) Over metering of usage by atleast 5 MB per session
3) Frequent disconnection have begun again which can be after a duration of anywhere after 3 – 5 mins or 10 – 20 mins.

4) http://www.broadbandforum.co/mtnl-broadband/ can be accessed only after many refreshes F5.

5) http://register.mtnl.net.in/ many times not accessible & if it is then its not updated as it used to be in the past (ie: upto the last session)

I only hope the improvements last :)

1. Yup, the modem page still takes time for me as well.2. No idea3. No frequent disconnection. Lets see, i am still watching the situation.4. Can access MTNL broadband forum without refreshing the page.5. register.mtnl.net.in is a headache for everyone in mumbai

This is a name given given to a set of problems which thousands of customers (as told to me by MTNL senior staff themselves) are facing in Mumbai from 1st April. It's got nothing to do with superstitions.

And yes I have reset the modem but it has had no effect for the better. :(

This my current speed https://www.speedtest.net seems to be some improvement or maybe I should try it during peak hours :)

pretty glad to see your speed improve socrates! 1730 is quite normal. max ive seen is 1800!:thumb:@krish plz do a speedtest from mtnl site itself because u can only ensure speed upto the exchange. when u test all the way to a server outside the mtnl exchange then factors which affect speed from exchange onwards also come into play which is out of your control. so measure only using mtnl server.
