MTNL Broadband: ADSL light on, but no internet connectivity

Hi can anyone confirm if their yahoo is working(esp. people on (k)ubuntu with gaim/kopete). I am unable to connect to yahoo chat for quite some days now and suspecting MTNL blocking it. can anyone provide feedback?

Got it to work. yahoo was blocking non-yahoo msgr users. Just in case someone else too is using non-yahoo msgr and stumbles upon here, the solution is to change ur pager server in Connection settings to "cn.scs.msg.yahoo.com"

my goodness, I am facing baap of frequent disconnections. adsl losing connectivity randomly longest being within 2 minutes but on an average disconnection every 10-15 seconds. anyone else facing such problems in mumbai. MTNL ki to band bajne wali hai.
