MTNL Mumbai launches Unlimited 256kbps Broadband at Rs.999

I changed my plan today to 256 unlimited 999/-. But MTNL says this will be effective from next billing cycle i.e. next month. Strange ways of MTNL????????

just login to ur account page and check plan. whatever plan it shows, u will be billed accordinglyit may take 2-3days for plan change.. keep calling them everyday.

Click on "view services" after logging on to register.mtnl.net.inIt took almost years for MTNL to slightly reduce charges on their unlimited plans...indeed MTNL sucks :frown:

Strange isn't it. I too changed my plan on the 1st and they said it would be effective from febIsnt it just easier to change it now only and start from the 1st??

Not necessary. I have changed my MTNL Landline tariff in between the billing cycle successfully.

I think if you go to exchange with hand written letter then plans get changed the next day itself. But if over 1500 then its done on 1st.Both the times i got my plan changed, by going to exchnge, it was done the next day.

My landline tariff was changed after calling 1500 within 2 days. Hope the same happens for my broadband tariff too. If not my new billing cycle is few days away

I don't think that is right. I call and ask for a change and they change it within 24 hours and call back to confirm it once it is done.
This is possible at any time of the month and they'll charge you pro-rata rent and compute usage for the days under each plan.
I have never done it for the unlimited plan so I can't 100% vouch for it though but it must be the same principle thoughout.
Perhaps when they said it will be effective from next billing cycle, what they meant was that you see it reflected only in your next bill.
As Amish says, check your View Services page. But first wait for them to call and confirm. If they don't do that in 48 hours ring up again and tell them you docket number and ask for the status. Hope you noted the docket number.

Is there is any limit for downloading speed for upto 256kbps unlimited plan from MTNL Exchange.

i wanted to change my NU plan and my current NU speed is 2Mbps to 5.3mbps.

can i get current speed into upto 256kbps UL plan.
