Macbook m1 /m2 does not support 160mhz BW so link speed will remain 1200 mbps. So ideally if router is good then you should get around 800-850mbps or even more
I had the same question.
But after running some tests on fast.com, I could see download speeds going upto 2.0Gb/s just for one second and then come back to normal 880-900Mb/s. Its merely a glitch on fast.com.

maybe I use a TP-Link xz g7 and my main router supports 2.5g port
previuosly had Mikrotik rb750gr3 and now have rb5009ug [ this has a 2.5 gb support]
or as @Skeeter mentioned maybe it was a glitch . most probably it was a glitch.
