I also live in B Block BRS Nagar. Do i just lodge a complaint through the portal or talking to someone in the exchange would help ?
i don't think one can contact the exchange direct ... but i do have the cell number of that guy who usually comes at home when a complaint is registered. But i guess best would be thru customer care only!
Also it skipped my mind earlier, what is your line rate, ? both upstream & downstream>?

I guess my upload speeds have improved but still not as per your mark. I raised a request yesterday through the portal and they worked on it. As of now, facebook and hotmail seem to be chocked up while browsing. Here is my trace route for hotmail

Sukhpreet. Your upload speed is perfect. My connection is rock solid since E1 upgraded. Everything speed, pings and tracert are perfect. I am thinking to upgrade to 1099 now. 4 mbps. What will be the download speed on 4 mbps plan? Technically 500KBps. But since my downstream is set to 4096. I won't be able to achieve full 4 mbps. What's the speed you guys getting in IDM and torrents? I am getting full 2 mbps currently as downstream is 4096. Is there anyway that we can make request them to change down stream to 5-6 mbps so can achieve pure 4mbps? :s

My downstream rate is set to 4096 and on an average i get around 420kBps direct snd 440-460kBps on torrents. Though on Steam,i magically get 600-700 kBps or even more!

On a 4 mbps plan using IDM your speed would throttle above 460kBps. On torrent downloads i usually get 420kBps constant. I was earlier on the 2mbps plan and DL speeds were always b/w 2.2-2.4mbps. As far as my observation is, Reliance is giving 80% of the allotted speed to all the DSL users on or above 4mbps plans.

Well its all about line rate with reliance as i have experienced. My connection is (for some magical reason) set to max DSL .. means max line rate & a bit better upload rate,

This was discussed some pages ago too, but no one else seem to have been given this high line rate, i guess if i upgrade to 4mbps plan it will give me full 4mbps but i am in 100% peace with 2mbps plan right now, USA TV(torrent) & Youtube is all i want which is great on current plan
Present speed test :-

PS: When i changed my plan from 2mbps thunder 699 to quarterly plan my line rate was downgraded to 4mbps, but again for some reason after a month i am back to maxdsl ... Reliance is strange, to some its a blessing :thumbup1: :angel: :angelnot: , to others its a cruse :sidefrown: :angry (): :anger3: :duel:
I am using transmission on DDWRT & i get about 280-350KB/s on average, but sometimes it reaches as high as 10Mb/S to 12Mb/S but that is just peak for a short time, :peach:
EDIT :- Ping to hotmail & facebook,

Can you pls post a screenshot of your modem WAN setting in the bridge mode ? I am able to connect in the Dynamic Mode but not sure of how to set it in Bridge mode. Off lately, i have started to feel that the Rel Modem + router works best and i am keen to try it for some time.

Have to tried setting up the following ip address then accessing the bridge mode ?
Network -> TCP/IP -> Properties ->
IP : 192.168.1.10
Subnet : 255.255.255.0
Default : 192.168.100.100
save -> Apply
then open up browser, enter 192.168.1.1
User name : admin
Password :admin
Hope this helps !!
Also its always best to have Router + modem setup, reliance or airtel or bsnl, or whatever, Combo is always better then standalone one, Google for more help.
Thanks !

I am on 4mbps thunder plan and from last one week I am getting crappy speeds on reliance. Anyone else from Ludhiana facing problems recently ?
PING to google is less than 100ms but speed I am getting is between 0.12 to 0.30 mbps.

Not me...there was an outage yesterday from 9:00am-12:00 as there upgrading something at the backend. Usually i get 3.4mbps on direct downloads and 3.2mbps on torrents. The speeds are pretty much constant with minimal fluctuation. Check if the plan has been implemented at the backend through the portal. I have bolt_1099.
