You can get Ethernet at most places.... even your LCO can provide and not very expensive....
But first you need to check the placement of routers....

You can do it passively.....

Factory reset your extender router..... enter wireless security setting.....

Just plug in ethernet cable to any of the Lan port (not WAN port) of the extender router....

Yes.. internet works.... lags, don't know....

I have been using this set up on 12years old router and it is working to the extent the hardware/ software of that old device supports...

I did not have my hands on Mi routers... so cannot comment.... but I dont seem to recall... there was some software issue...

TL-WR841N.. I have been using for more than 2 years.... Ok..ish...VFM

If you are making a fresh investment... my call would be C2... it is dual band + gigabit port... but it is more than 4 times the price of TL-WR841N(I only suggested C2 bcos of C50)

@ijsa @Sushubh I am not much familiar with networking and don't want to spend extensively initially. I have decided to get the Mi 3C router.

But since the 3C doesn't support DSL I will still use the Binatone as a modem and disable WLAN on it.

Thank you for all the help. Thanks @Nishant too.

I have one last question though. Does placing two routers together cause any issues?

@Sushubh Independent wireless devices as in?

Also, from what i gather as long as there isn't much noise in the Wi-Fi channel and they don't overlap each other both routers should work fine right?

Placing two router won't be an issue as long as they are not interfering on same Wifi channel.....

Since you have mentioned Wireless noise/ Wifi Channel issue....... try your Binatone router on different Wifi channel by manually selecting a different channel..... try Channel 1...

Use Wifi analyzer for further troubleshooting....
