reliance has already tried copying the concept with bigflix. they are streaming online also from what i have heard.

Not really. The 360 has the ability to both download and stream HD content from XBL/Netflix or from your own home collection via Windows Media Center. Physical media IMHO is going the way of the dodo. I just download the latest BR-Rip and stream it to my HDTV using my 360 which is way better than forking over $$ and buying BR dics that are usually months behind the online leaks anyways.
That's exactly what I've been doing since I got my LCD. Hook up my laptop with my 360 and stream movies on my TV. It's amazing.

I vote for Xbox 360 .. I use it with my computer and watch Movies, downloaded videos, youtube videos on my TV.. Also got more than 100 games .. to buy that number of games on PS3 you will have to spend 2.5 lacs .. whereas here its abt Rs 8000 only :)if you re a fan of online gaming .. go for PS3

My personal opinion would be go for PS3... The hardware is way ahead in terms of computation abilities... The exclusive PS3 games are far superior... Though it suffers when it comes to multi-platform games as the hardware functioning is unique and hence the multiplatform games can't really make full use of the PS3's capabilities... for full reviews watch the 12 rounds of this are 12 rounds of comparison.. I suggest watch all of them...

I second your opinion. PS3 hardware is more powerful than XBOX 360 hardware. PS3 exclusives are far better than XBOX 360 exclusives. However, when it comes to multi-platform games, PS3 games show some frame rate and lighting issues. This is because XBOX 360 has a base resolution of 720p whereas PS3's base resolution is 1080p (Full HD). Multiplatform games are easier to develop for the XBOX 360 and then they are ported to the PS3, resulting in the above mentioned issues.

value for money depends on what you are gonna do with it.

If you are a hardcore fan which plays their choice of games like Gran Turismo,Metal Gear Solid then you buy PS3 or in 360's case HALO,Gears,Mass Efeect or in Nintendo's case ZELDA,MARIO,METROID.

But i guess you are not a hardcore and just looking to play games as casual with some benefits on the entertainment side so it is as follows

If you are gonna play Blu-ray then PS3.

Online is free on PS3 and $50 per year on 360.

PS3 is also an enterment platform more than 360.

xbox 360 is a better deal if you are not going to be able to afford original games.

ps3 is a better long term option considering it is a more capable gaming console and would likely to outlast xbox 360.

but xbox 360 would soon get project natal which is expected to be magical.

ps3 would get ps move capabilities soon which would provide a Wii like gaming experience.

it is a personal decision in the end. xbox 360 games are available in the market for modded consoles. ps3 i believe is still not modded.

PS3 is not hacked so it won't be modded, god knows when it will be

NATAL is yet to be seen what it can do,MS are saying it can do alot but they haven't shown anything yet.

PS MOVE on the other hand has shown alot of demos and it is in 3D space

motion sensing
on this front now all consoles have motion sensing.

games
ps3 unhacked expensive games. other hacked so u find cheap games

HD
ps3 is the only one with HD content. and it will get software update for 3-D as well. others wont.

money
better check the price i do not know.

not all consoles have it till now,PS MOVE and NTAL are due in September and October.

Also they are standalones

PS3 has already gotten the 3D firmware update

PS3 anytime is a better console & BD Drive was always a plus for me - so couples as a BD DVD Player as well + enthusiasts can also experiment by installing Linux OS etc & use it as a computer as well.

LINUX OS removed, only through firmware update now

NETFLIX is not in INDIA.

physical media is not going the way of DODO,you can't stream BLU-RAY quality atleast in INDIA.

360 can stream through Windows but not standalone capability

and BR-RIP's take time to download at the FULL THING WITH THE EXTRAS AND ALL WHICH CAN GO UPTO 66GBS

Also as Ankit mentioned PS3 has got the 3d update... I updated my console last week... And then many people speak of project Natal... To me it sounds too good to be true... Also PS3 are coming with their own version of the same thing.. I dun think you can kep the japs behind... lol...

Here is a preview of the project natal... Xbox.com | Project Natal

I own both and I'd say the 360 all the way. Even though I had 2 RRoD on me(both of em pre-08), I'd still recommend it because it offers the best experience especially with XBL. The newer ones all have smaller and cooler cores and are reliable. Not to sound like a Fanboy or anything but I don't see Sony beating MS in this generation especially with Natal coming up. They've managed to steal away most of Sony exclusives and are beating them with their own franchise exclusives. I still can't believe MSG and Final Fantasy are now on the 360. One of the big con's is that they are real loud compared to the PS3 but if you get a 360 edition with a large HDD you can use disc copy and it's much quieter without the DVD spinning.

FWIW, lately I find myself using the 360 as a Windows 7 Media Extender more often that I find time to game on it.

360 RROD is still at 54%,repost of December 2009.MS itself agreed that it existed.PS3 is at 8% and Wii at 5%.

Sony is just 4.5m PS3's behind 360 atm with outselling it evey week after the PS3 120gb and 250gb launch.I track sales. And by current projection it will outsell it by 1m consoles by March 2011.Also PS consoles sell for 10 years and it is only PS3's 4th year and 360's 5th year.360 isn't beating PS3 by their own exclusives,

RE5 sold more on PS3
Final Fantasy 13 sold more on PS3

Final fantasy 13 bombed compared to franchises previous sales.

Final Fantasy 13 VERSUS and Final Fantasy 14 are exclusive. And by FF13's sales they won't go back to 360.
Metal Gear Solid Rising isn't being made by Kojima, all other Metal Gears are not well recieved by MGS fans

I guess you are wrong. X360 also has HD content.

I have an X360 and I am happy with that currently. I am able to use it as an extender for Win7 and can enjoy movies in my PC on TV. The games are moderately priced and I am still using original ones. Didnt try any pirated ones till date.
I do not have a PS3, but the advantage is that you get the free blue ray player with PS3, which is always a good deal.

Anyway, check both of them and decide yourself.

the question is whether 360 can play it on its own.Not everyone want to run around configuring the streaming options and all.

But dude its not always only about sales figures... I would say Mac OS is a million times better than windows... But windows still has 95% of the market... It is my personal opinion based on the extensive research I personally carried out before buying my console that PS3 is far better... Also do not discount my bias against microsoft... :)
