Which is Best Gaming Console, Value for Money

But dude its not always only about sales figures... I would say Mac OS is a million times better than windows... But windows still has 95% of the market... It is my personal opinion based on the extensive research I personally carried out before buying my console that PS3 is far better... Also do not discount my bias against microsoft... 
Mac might not be a better OS, fooling 95% of the people is not easy but PS3 based on specs is definitely a better platform. It all boils down to the 'PRICE FACTOR' - PS3 cannot be modded and the console or even the games are more expensive but with the price you definitely get a better performance. I like PS3 for it's media capabilities as well and have run UBUNTU OS as well - but just as an experimentation.
So if someone is looking at a more economical option then Xbox is the choice and if you are a hardcore gamer ready to spend anything then PS3 if the way to go

I second your opinion. PS3 hardware is more powerful than XBOX 360 hardware. PS3 exclusives are far better than XBOX 360 exclusives. However, when it comes to multi-platform games, PS3 games show some frame rate and lighting issues. This is because XBOX 360 has a base resolution of 720p whereas PS3's base resolution is 1080p (Full HD). Multiplatform games are easier to develop for the XBOX 360 and then they are ported to the PS3, resulting in the above mentioned issues.
But things might change in near future... & out of my experience most games games i played looked better on PS3

you talking about hardcore gamer,you can be a hardcore gamer and own 360.hardcore gamer would not even look at the features but what game franchises does the platform have.
this isn't PC gaming where people blindly follow the bigger specs thing.like i would buy a Wii if it had exclusive GRAN TURISMO,METAL GEAR SOLID and FINAL FANTASY.

exclusive games like MGS4,UNCHARTED 2,GOD OF WAR 3 look better on the PS3 but MANY MULTI-PLAT games don't cause most time they are developed on 360 first and then ported
