Even my DBC had the same issue when I was doing bridge.

From what I have observed, there are three ways to make it work:

1) Buy a new ONT without WIFI and put it on Bridge Mode. (I am using this method)

2) MAC refresh where the routers own MAC address will be bound for PPPOE. (BSNL started Blocking unauthorized MAC address for new users. They can start blocking old users too in the future)

3) Let the third profile handle PPPOE so you can delete it and use that wan mac on the Router. LAN light stays up, no need to spend money on new ONT or getting blocked for unauthorized MAC address.

3rd Method also requires MAC refresh, but you can use ONT if Router fails in the future or something.

@sloj -The firmware in the Netlink site ,I tried that.I tried the version 1 for my ont but when i try to upgrade it ,It says that i have an incorrect image for the firmware .I guess it because in the modem interface the device model is written as IGD? but i am pretty sure that i choose the right firmware .Right now my firmware is on 1.36xxx

@Adithya -The wan mac of the ont from status page is different from the mac shown on the back side of the ont and also i checked the cumulative unbilled usage of this month .. the mac address is not written there ? Maybe because last week the technician came to my home and he put my modem in route mode and the mac was changed?I could see the mac id in cumulative billed usage of last month though.

@ddpk
In my DBC, on the WAN MAC side, Every profile gets the same MAC address and only the last digit changes.

If 1st profile (Internet in my Case) has MAC ending in 64, then 2nd profile (Voice) MAC ends in 65 and third profile MAC ends in 66.

If this is the same for you then:
1) Delete all Profiles and create a bridge profile
2) On router spoof the WAN MAC which will appear for your ONTs third profile
3) Setup PPPOE and use your credentials.
4) Verify that the LAN light doesn't turn off.

If this works and LAN light does not turn off then you can use the 3 profiles trick and make them refresh your MAC binding. The third profile will get MAC Bound. You can copy that WAN MAC to your router and delete this third profile to make PPPOE work on your router.

If money is not an issue then you can simply buy a BSNL approved ONT without WiFi and with only Lan Ports and Voice (If needed).
Put it in bridge mode and use current ONTs mac address on your Router to make it work.
Costs around 1000-1800 depending on where you buy it from.

@!!..PD..!! Bridge doesn't have any address. The profile (virtual port) you create has and needs an address for route mode. When you bridge mode the profile, the address isn't required. And that's why you can clone the address on the other end which is a router.

Now why would BSNL block MAC address as you said? Doesn't make sense. They only need certified ONTs connected to their network, we still have choice for our own routers.

And refreshing or resetting MAC address makes the whole steps you mentioned redundant. It's like the shortest path from point A to C is a straight line but you are choosing to go to B first and then to C instead.

@ddpk Did you upload the tar file directly or you extracted it?
