what is your current BSNL DNS? is it 218.248.255.163?It seems in Bangalore. Are they still following the same system of keeping the central DNS ? or they have installed state wise ?...I found some free VPN offer 2 mbps and dns.It may help in reducing latency issue litt. bit. So, paste BSNL DNS and tracert & ping of 8.8.8.8, openDNS and UltraDNS(204.74.101.1).UltraDNS has direct peering with VSNL from Mumbai to its network.

You have the best performance as compared to mine on WLAN(Tikona). I get avg 113 ms and min 93 ms.

To those who have high pings, are you by any chance from South India / Chennai? If so, post some trace-routes to Singapore / other servers you've been trying to reach. Here's a problem I have been facing since Feb this year, no resolution yet :
https://broadband.forum/bsnl-broadband/76312-bsnl-broadband-routing-issue-high/

Note: Refer last pages to know that the problem only gets resolved in midnights automatically.

I've also been trying to reach BSNL's higher authorities who understand such a problem, couldn't find one yet. All I could make them do is change my phone line, and it has already been done 6 times.
