Did anyone see Pak v/s NZ match? Pak crumbled to 100/9 chasing 211 to win. They are no diff than ours.

But, they got a better version of Praveen Kumar. Almost did the job.

Yeah, this Praveen Kumar too had chance to take India to win two times. But cudnt. But overall he is proving to be good AVERAGE all rounder.

i guess in india we tend to become happy with average stuff and consider it good enough :D

----------

sometimes i miss robin singh.

well, as of now avg is only option. what is bhajan doing in team? i have not seen match winning bowling from him from long time. praveen kumar is atleast excellent swing bowler. when conditions favour him, he becomes very lethal. and he is now proving to be handy batsman.

i do not follow indian cricket selection anymore. but i guess at any given time as many as 7-8 positions in the team are decided by default. and u just have to pick the rest of the players. i guess bhajji has been successful in keeping a low profile. he went out for a duck in that match (350)... that was a shocker.

That wasn't a shocker, I expect him to get out any ball. Even when he scores 30-40 on rare occassions, most of them come from outside-edge :grin:Also, he hasn't done anything significant with the ball in recent times, but given the quality of the fast bowlers, India should go with 2 spinners and 3 seamers including an all-rounder between them. And Praveen Kumar has been better than any No.9 India have ever produced.

You are forgetting Manoj Prabhakar, he came as bowler, batted at no 11 and then changed to complete all rounder. There was time he opened batting as well as bowling regularly :D

He spent most of this time in the top order. But, yeah he was the only all-rounder at that time.Just heard Zaheer Khan is coming back.
