Vonage connection with DataOne MT841

Hi, I am trying to set up a Vonage connection (Motorola VT2542) with the Data One MT841 router. I have configured this assuming it to be a modem with in-built router. I have connected the blue internet cable between the vonage router and MT841. The old ethernet connection between the MT841 and the CPU is still there. And I connected a cable between the phone device and the vonage router. After connecting the vonage router with the MT841, the internet connection is still intact.The problem I am facing is that: 1) The power led doesn't become steady.2) On lifting the handset for the phone, I get a message saying that this connection is not authorized for use and that I should the other line. I would really appreciate if anybody who has experienced this problem could suggest something to fix this. Thank you in advance for your help.
