Which Google Android Smartphone should I buy?

A friend broke his phone lately it was a Nokia. He need some suggestions for his new phone.Budget is 10K, could be stretched to 14K if the device worth the price.Priorities are:1. Email2. Music3. Camera 4. A decent screen (Open to both Touchscreen & QWERTY)Regarding OS, open to both Symbian^ & Android (Any reputed brand)

whenever you talk about any android phone... mention a couple of things. processor RAMAndroid version would it get updated to android 2.3 (or whatever)

Motorola Defy has a 800 Mhz Processor which is easily overclocked by many enthusiasts to 1 Ghz. Official Android 2.2 version for India was out a few days back, was pulled back & expected again soon. Defy has many custom ROM support and i have read people using Gingerbread 2.3 (Not Official) with it. (Someone got a Quadrant Score in excess of 2,100 !!!)

so basically it is on sale with Android 2.1. that is something worth mentioning.

Android 2.2 Official Update was out and installed by many users in India. Right now on Motorola Site, you have to select Country from the drop down menu for update. From that, they have taken out India. But people have downloaded 2.2 update for other Asian countries & it's working. Even before this official update was out, many custom rom's were available.
