So Xiaomi banned like Uber?

So no hardware support for the devices already sold in india ?
What about software support ? Android updates ? Is it possible for govt to block that as well.

Just relax , its nothing serious , ercison did same thing to gionee , micromax and intex , they had to pay 1% of their sales as royalty to ericson . Xiaomi has not yet received any official statement , and even if they do , they just have to pay some royalty and they should be back in business again .

Does this mean they can't release the tablet either? I've been waiting for them to release the Mi Pad for like forever. If it's banned too then I may be I can go ahead and order it from China (Xiaomiworld.com) although it would mean paying around 50% extra.

since Mi pad doesn't use GSM, there won't be a problem with that. but xiaomi is not keen on releasing it anytime soon. next release

will be Mi4 in jan/feb 2015.

You just have to wait for the case to be solved. Once Ericson gets their money Xiaomi can continue. India is very important for them, they will not let it go easily

By statement it appears they have no intention to let go the indian markets and they will do the needful to settle the claim with ericson.
