Try Netgear or D-Link.
Will give you number of provider if you want.

BTW-hows worldnet wrt uptime and speeds?

PS-There is no reason why you cannot use net and dc at same time..will work fine with a wireless router..in fact you can have multiple PCS with net and dc at same time.

I have accepted your friend request - you should be able to send the PM to me now.
Regarding the router - I have Belkin Surf router.
TO make the DC++ work on router ....you will have to go to the router home page (192.168.2.1 in my case) and add the TCP and UDP ports.
(Google a little bit and you will find youtube video explaining the same)

....in case you struggle ...post here ...and will take you step by step to configure it.

Gautam,im also buyinga router.I wanted to ask-
From the answer you have given,im assuming that you have kept the routers firewall ON.The thing is,i already have a good firewall on my PC.So is it OK if i switch off the routers firewall? if i switch on the firewall, does it protect my network ,apart from my computer in some way, because i was thinking id turn the routers firewall off and just install individual firewalls on each PC.

My router firewall is disabled too....port forwarding is required for DC++ to work.

If you have a cat5 cable directly connecting your comp/laptop ...default option in DC++ will work....but in case of the router ....DC++ has to be configured for the TCP and UDP ports.
The same needs to be added in the home page of the router also (if you know where to add the port ...its a 1 minute job)

Now coming to the functionality of the router firewall ...i dont know the pros and cons exactly ...maybe you can post the query as a separate thread
We have quite a few very techie people here who can guide you on that

So gautam, what about Utorrent-Do you also have to port forward for Utorrent in the router or does that work normally without forwarding.

Everything else works perfectly without touching the port forwarding page

....browsing...utorrent etc ...nothing needs to be changed on router ..default setting will work perfectly
