What exactly is the Nokia Comes With Music service? | Crave - CNET

Q: Will the tracks just be limited to use on the phone or can they downloaded to users' computers as well?
A: Nokia provides seamless access to a world of music--people can download music directly to their Comes With Music device or via their compatible personal computer. Plus, people can easily transfer tracks and playlists between their Nokia device and computer using the Nokia Music for PC software.

Nokia is including a certain price in the costing of the phone. the expectation is that the customers would continue for the service after the one year period is up.Microsoft Zune came preloaded with some music files. The company had a deal with music companies which got them paid for this music. The cost was included in the price of the device. Of course, Nokia is gambling here. They are allowing customers to download hundreds of songs if not thousands by providing them access to millions of songs. But in the end, the songs are limited to verified PC and a mobile device. You really cannot share them on third party devices.

duh. people dont buy songs online here in india. Apple itunes does not work in india. i dont know of any service which sells music online here in india. Nokia comes with music if launched in india would be bundled with the mobile devices. users who buy the compatible mobile handset would get one year free access to the store which has millions of songs. these songs would be downloadable on the computer authorized to use the store. the music can be heard on this computer and it can be transfered to the connected mobile device. it's optional.
