Suggest 43inch TV

Looking to buy a 43inch TV. Thinking to buy offline, Amazon/flipkart has become risky.

Brands:-

Samsung - I already own 2 TV from this brand. OS is very simple, fast and responsive. Overall decent quality and reliable. Cons - Limited apps - samsung app store, brightness and motion blur is not the best.

LG - I am not sure about their WEB OS, read it lags a lot. No clarity about IPS or VA panel.

Sony - Google TV OS. Better picture quality than samsung. Costs a little extra. Cons- Not sure how long its OS will get updates and some reports of TV becoming unresponsive. Service and long term reliability not sure.


Models Shortlisted -

Samsung - DU7000 - 36-37k (too much confusion about model no sold online, offline)

LG - Nanocell - 38-40k offline (cannot find 43inch online)

Sony - XL64 2023 model - Amazon.in (not sure whats latest model available offline but I want its 2024 version if available at 40k with offers)

In review videos I really liked the brightness and motion blur removal of SONY, it makes watching sports experience good. Also I will keep it in the hall area where there is too much light during day time so extra brightness should help.

lol I know the reviewer mentioned about this con, it feels like watching movie on 1.25x, Sony has an easy option to turn it off. Not sure how to disable it on samsung as I was not really aware about this feature earlier and wondered why some movies felt weird to watch.

On Amazon reviews people are complaining about Sony TV lagging OS I mean I expected slowness from android but after 2-3 years not after 6 months.

Anyone using Sony TV with Google TV OS?

I have a fire tv stick connected on mom's Bravia tv. Sony remote is too complex. I think it came with two or three different remotes.

Basically mom was already used to fire tv remote and interface so when brother replaced her old tv with bravia, i just set it up like on old tv. she struggles with the sony remote which has way too many buttons.

I did check out the sony's own android implementation. it was usable but fire tv stick feels just better coz i have spent way too much time on it. In the end, I think external hardware is just better and it makes no sense to spend more money on an internal media platform. you can upgrade to better hardware in future. you can switch between platforms.

BTW, if the tv is going to be used by your parents, try to find a model that has a source button on the remote. I got a basic Mi TV for dad and it requires changing source from the Android menu which is pretty shitty experience if you change source multiple times a day (CCTV, DTH). I actually had to get a HDMI mini box for him which has its own shitty tiny remote to let him switch between CCTV and DTH directly from hardware instead of venturing into the Android menu every single time.

I am thinking to go for Samsung. Sony 2024 models are not available yet for 43 inch, only 55"+ models are available.

Why the f samsung has so many identical models with different pricing, there is no way to even compare them to know the difference.

I think the difference is in voice assistant function. Why even sell smart tv without voice assistant.

Finally bought samsung 7700 from croma offline, it comes with wall mount and solar/type c rechargeable remote. 36k approx with OneCard emi offer.

The 7000 model doesn't have voice function remote and no stands wall mount or base. I think base is free offered by Samsung but croma guys said it's not included.

I didn't wanted to waste more time because there is another model 7660 which comes with voice keypad type remote, about 1000-1500 cheaper. But this store only had that in 50 inch. Another croma store closer to my home i called yesterday had that.

TV was installed today. Samsung service is very prompt, after 1 hr of delivery they called for installation and scheduled it for yesterday 7pm but it was raining and for whatever reason they asked to rescheduled it for today.

But BEWARE of the scammy tactics of installation person.

1. They try to sell you movable mount for Rs 3500 claiming the provided mount will make ports on tv inaccessible and to connect any wire I have to remove tv from mount. Complete false info I mean Samsung or any manufacture is not stupid to provide ports which will not be accessible on wall mount. There is enough space to connect USB, HDMI etc.

2. Sell stabilizer which is probably not required, nor correct size for your TV.

3. Ask for SMS which contains OTP and feedback link. They want to scam you and get 5 star feedback. Aggh I didn't shared the sms but gave full 5 star feedback after job was done which takes few minutes only.

After he left I realized the mount scam.

Oh another thing.

Croma requires OTP for delivery. They need to deliver in the allotted slot so the delivery person called 15 before delivery slot end time for OTP, without delivering. When refused he called backend for OTP and completed delivery

yes it seems to be common with samsung installation team, they will take you hostage till you give feedback right in front of them with 5 stars and they will take photo of the feedback.

Also they will ask you for "muuh meetha" (chai pani of 100-200rs for good work) and if you refuse to give extra money, they will look at us like we have done a crime lol

again not samsung's fault but shitty culture of service centres and people getting afraid that their equipment will go kaboom if they no give them chai pani. (superstition )
