Glad to know that NTSC TV problem is finally solved with this SUN STB. I would like to know if similar NTSC STB is available with HDMI as well. I will wait until then
I tried my Sony w5100 series NTSC (US) tv ( 110/220v,50Hz/60Hz support) with the sundirect HD stb samsung, connected thru HDMI cable, but it does not work out. TV displays as "Unsupported signal. please check the device output". I tried changing the samsung STB resolution (connected thru videocable connection) to different available resolutions like 720p or 1080i, but nothing seems workedout.my tv supported video formats: 1080p/60,1080i/60, 1080p/24 (HDMI only), 720i/p/60I think the only option for me now is, to go for either ATLONA box or DVDO EDGE. Anyone succeeded with the samsung stb sundirect HD here? pls. share your inputs.
We also faced this issue. When we connected our TV, the picture displayed only in Black and White without audio. Luckily the local cable operator brought a "Digital Cable Receiver" AC-2510 Plus from "Seans Media Private Limited" which had options to select between NTSC/PAL as the output format. It's cost was around Rs.1,000 /-. Once we selected the right output format it started working amazingly well.
This worked out to be a really cheap and quality solution and available locally in the Indian Market.
