India actually did same during last series in Aus, which was also Dhoni's first series as ODI captain I guess. India did fairly well in Test Series under Kumble captaincy then Dhoni took over as ODI captain.

But now things look different.

It makes very interesting as SL beat AUS today. Sunday's match against AUS will be a do or die for India.

India must beat Aus.Then,If Ind beat SL, Ind qualify, SL-Aus is immaterialIf SL beat Ind, SL should beat Aus as well next week.

On Sunday against Australia, India will be chasing! The top-order will fail with Sehwag the lone fighter till Dhoni arrives. Then the two of them will put on a huge a partnership of 200+ runs and India will win! What an epic situation that will be.

Being an India fan i will be optimistic for sure, especially with the ODI team. I didnt have many hopes from test team once i saw their attitude in first test.Btw r u guys sure that there is 1 more Oz-SL encounter remaining? I have not kept a track of such a long series in terms of fixtures.
