Just requested Airtel to change my connection from Freedom 1699 plan (2 MBPS) to Turbo 75 (4 MBPS) after much deliberation. Will see how it goes, and if need be, will change to 150 GB plan. Was told that the pro rata basis billing has been discontinued and therefore all plan changes will take effect with start of new billing cycle only. Unfortunately, will have to wait another 10 days for the plan to take effect.

just applied for the 2099 package on a new connection back at parent's place. let's see how soon it is processed.

and just told that my area does not have the ability to handle 4mbps.

so 2mbps 1999 plan it is. damn airtel.

heh. talk about bad experience. airtel has gone nuts. beetel is now a separate entity. which means wiring and hardware is not provided by airtel anymore. beetel guys come to your place. you pay them cash for the hardware. they do the wiring. you get only two options. a regular modem or a wireless router. modem is around 750 bucks. wireless router is around 1500 bucks.

modem is around 750 bucks. wireless router is around 1500 bucks.
