That'd be better to check things once for yourself.
About payment never go with annual plans (Unless you can save a lot), you never know when these LCO or ISP do some changes and ruin everything.

My local ISP changed his backhaul (this was during 2015s time) and ping was so high that i had to get another provider. Later on even he reversed the backhaul due to complaints but i did lose 2-3 months of my pack.

And even just weeks back my ISP has lowered the plan prices and since i opt for 4 months plan i can grab the deal before they change the deal.

Excitel does not do refunds. The sales guy promises anything to onboard the customer and then vanishes.
I have a similar experience.

I would suggest if you have not got the installation done.
Better cancel the plan or ask the customer care team to change the plan to one month and refund the amount.
Test the connection first, if you are okay then only move to Excitel.

Airtel has issues, but I would say it's far better than Excitel. Excitel provides cheap internet with cheap quality.
If you had issues with the ONT, you should have bought one yourself and should have replaced the existing one with that.

Yup. Pay monthly and once you are comfortable only then pay for a long term plan. And be aware that things can go to shit at any time and past experience might no longer be applicable. So either pay more for monthly plan or accept the risk of prepayment of six or twelve months. Three months should be a safe middle ground.

@imdarkray I've had issues with ONT since the beginning, first a used Nokia G-2425G-A was installed, later a Dasan H660GM-A on which speeds dropped to 45mbps from 200mbps after a crappy firmware update, the team leader and backend guy visited my placed and were adamant that itna hi speed aata hai, I forced them to revert the firmware to previous version and check the speed by downloading a Windows ISO from Microsoft's website (The downloads speeds are at full potential when downloading from Microsoft, Gdrive etc. websites ). On reverting the firmware, ISO downloaded at 24.5MB/s. They literally said "Kuch naya sikhne ko mila". Later the ONT started to have frequent internet disconnections after 2 months. Even after multiple complaints and requests,, they didn't replace the ONT. I had to buy another connection just to get the ONT replaced and even then a faulty Sercomm AOT-4221SR was installed, I opted for 200mbps plan and the maximum speed I got was 30-45mbps and pings were extremely high. Again on complaining, they were not willing to replace the ONT, after speaking to the crappy Customer Service seniors, they took the team leader on line and finally decided to send the technician at my place to check what's going on. The technicians literally said to the Team Leader "Customer ko kyu itna pareshan karre ho, paise de rakhe h unhone", then the next day the router was replaced. I'm fed up because videos starts to buffer randomly and the ONT cannot handle multiple devices well that's why I was thinking to switch the ISP and the only one available was Excitel but on using it it's not much better than Airtel, Complaint resolution time is a minimum 4 Days which is a lot longer than Airtel ( promising a few hours).
I've ordered the TP-Link Archer AX1500, will set the ONT to bridge mode and use that, should work fine ig.
Didn't get the Excitel installed, sent the installation guys back xD.

300mbps. paying yearly for around 3 years now. has been fine. i pay for airtel base plan as backup which is connected to a dual wan router as failover. it does go down now and then. i file a ticket on the portal and try to alert the lco as well. has been quite alright for the price so far. their local guy who handled problems himself left a while ago. while he was here, things were simple as i could just whatsapp him whenever there was an issue. since he left, i just pray that things get back fine after filing support ticket and calling the lco main number.

@Sushubh I asked the installation guys, they said minimum time for a complaint resolution is 4 days, Airtel hardly goes down, and they fix it within 15-30 min. The only issue is the hardware. I'm installing my own router so it should work fine only.

I am on Airtel just because here in my colony, almost all houses have Airtel connection, so in case line goes down, I dont have to alert airtel guys, other people on same network start complaining and it get resolved within a couple of hours.

I think that might not be the case with Excitel or even any smaller ISPs. So think wisely.
According to me, mental peace is more important than low pricing. I dont have to live in a doubt that if my line goes down, I will have to go through a lot of hassle by informing airtel technicians that my line is down. WFH people will relate to this.

With Local ISPs in the past, I had to inform their technicians and keep following till they fix it, not the case with airtel.
